expression of interest (eoi) for operation, management and maintenance of gausadan through an eligible ngo, societies, trusts and voluntary organizations. the selected organization shall be responsible for the day-to-day management and overall welfare of the cattle housed in the gausadan, including proper feeding and drinking water, cleanliness and sanitation, veterinary care, safety and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, government directions and instructions of dharamshala municipal
orporation. the objective of the engagement is to ensure humane, safe, hygienic and proper care of cattle and effective management of the gausadan through the participation of a suitable and experienced ngo/society. scope of work includes:
a. shelter and animal care:
1. maintain the gausadan in a safe, hygienic and suitable condition.
2. ensure adequate space, ventilation, shade and protection from adverse weather conditions.
3. ensure that cattle are not subjected to cruelty, neglect, unnecessary confinement or physical abuse.
4. ensure proper segregation of sick, injured, weak, newly admitted and other cattle wherever required.
5. ensure adequate bedding/resting arrangements as appropriate.
6. prevent overcrowding beyond the approved carrying capacity.
7. immediately report cases of serious injury, disease, death, escape or other unusual incidents to the municipal corporation.
b. feeding and drinking water:
1. provide adequate and nutritious fodder/feed to all cattle housed in the gausadan.
2. ensure availability of clean drinking water at all times.
3. fodder and feed shall be of acceptable quality and free from harmful or contaminated material.
4. the ngo shall maintain daily records of fodder/feed received and consumed.
5. the feeding arrangements shall be periodically inspected by the authorized officer of the corporation.
c. veterinary care:
1. the ngo shall ensure regular veterinary examination of the cattle.
2. necessary medicines shall be administered only under appropriate veterinary advice.
3. vaccination, deworming and other preventive healthcare measures shall be undertaken as advised by the competent veterinary authority.
4. proper medical records of each animal shall be maintained wherever practicable.
5. in case of death of any cattle, the ngo shall immediately inform the corporation and arrange lawful disposal as directed by the competent authority.
d. cleanliness and sanitation:
1. the gausadan premises shall be kept clean and hygienic.
2. regular cleaning of sheds, feeding areas, water troughs, drains and surrounding areas shall be carried out.
3. cow dung and other waste shall be removed regularly.
4. waste shall be disposed of/processed in accordance with applicable environmental and local regulations.
5. the ngo shall take measures to control flies, insects, rodents and other sanitation-related problems.
6. adequate drainage and cleanliness shall be maintained during the monsoon season.
